China Scholarship Council (CSC) / South China Agricultural University🪐 🇨🇳 Multiple countriesDeadline: Varies by programme
South China Agricultural University (华南农业大学, Guangzhou) runs an annual Chinese Government Scholarship Independent Recruitment (自主招生) program: candidates must be recommended by a supervisor, are evaluated by a 5-7 professor panel whose vote decides the proposed admit list, and pass through a public notice before the provincial education department consolidates the list for CSC final approval. Recipients may not change institution, and in principle not major or program length; the scholarship is forfeited if enrollment is not on schedule. Unlike Type B, applicants must not currently be studying in China (graduates must have been away over one year). Evidence-checked against the official page (fetched 2026-09-24; page text: data/source_direct/pages/scau--cgs-zizhu-zhaosheng). Verify current details on the official website before applying.
Apply Safely: Applications are processed on the official provider website, not on Scholarships Atlas. Only apply through the official source linked above.
ValueNot stated on the plan page. The program is funded through the Chinese Government Scholarship with CSC holding final approval; the university's companion CGS Type B brochure lists the standard package (tuition/application-fee waiver, free accommodation, living allowance, comprehensive medical insurance).
