McMaster is a research-intensive university in Hamilton, Ontario, and its funding splits cleanly by level. International undergraduates meet a set of entrance and continuing awards, some merit based and some tied to a faculty or program, and many are decided as part of admission. The list below also carries a long tail of donor and community scholarships, several aimed at specific student groups, so the eligibility line on each card decides whether an award is yours to pursue.
Graduate students at McMaster are funded through their department, with research-based master's and doctoral students drawing on assistantships and the federal programs common to every Canadian university, including the Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships and the tri-council grants from NSERC, SSHRC and CIHR. Health sciences, McMaster's largest research area, runs its own internal awards on top of those.
The practical difference between the two layers shows up in the deadlines: entrance awards follow the admission cycle, while graduate funding follows the department's own rounds. Each card links to the office that owns the award, and that page is where you confirm whether an international student can apply, since several community and Indigenous awards below have residency or citizenship conditions attached.
