PhD funding comes in three main forms: funded positions (salary or stipend plus tuition, common in Europe), government scholarships (CSC, Fulbright, DAAD), and university fellowships. Many funded positions are advertised as jobs. Apply broadly. Applications for government scholarships often close months before the academic year starts.
